Theme Challenge: Rural NightsSuggested by Quiless (https://www.deviantart.com/quiless)
A few weeks ago I camped out in our backyard with marshmallows roasting over the crackling fire pit. The moon was full and the air had a chill to it. I live in a pretty rural area, where, on a clear night, all you can see are stars. Have you ever slept under the night's sky? Or do you day dream about getting away from the city lights and enjoying the dark and calm, no hum of electricity... Let the night inspire you to create a journal skin theme.
Create a journal skin, gallery or custom box bg/widget or other journal/profile resource using the theme for this week. Add the hashtag #CSSC
Theme Challenge: Portfolio`Andorada (https://www.deviantart.com/andorada) Suggested by Andorada (https://www.deviantart.com/andorada)
Every artist needs to showcase their art. There are many different ways, depending on what type of art they have. But a portfolio is classic. The journal can either be inspired by portfolios, or be a portfolio to display art. The skin would be perfect for art focused features, picture stories, collection highlights, web comics or anything that would work well in a one page image format.

Theme Challenge: GalaxiesGalaxies, stars, super novas, blackholes, nebulas.... Space. Nothing mesmerizes me quite like the infinite wonder that is the night sky. Take to the stars with this challenge. What inspires you from the word "Galaxies"? A sea of pin prick lights across a field of black.
Create a journal skin, gallery or custom box bg/widget or other journal/profile resource using the theme for this week. Add the hashtag #CSSBabesChallenge to your deviation or description.
All skins tagged will be featured in the next week's challenge. Late entries will be featured in the next one and so on. For example, if you enter week 1 du

In June, I will have more time to devote to the group. I'll be trying to collaborate with a few other CSS groups (check our Affiliates) to promote more CSS skinning across the board. I want to start u
The State of the Community AddressAs many of you are probably aware, there has been a long period of inactivity or a reduction of activity across the entire CSS community. Many have moved on to other things, spend less time on dA or just are no longer interested in CSS. But I would like to change that. I have been discussing the situation in the backrooms of several groups with various fellow CSS mods that there has been a lack of enthusiasm in the CSS community. Many have tried revitalizing it throughout the years, but participation has lolled. Contests getting one or just a few entries, despite offering interesting prizes... Submissio

CP 2014 - Dates and Rules
More than half of the year is already over and that means that we are slowly getting closer to another round of the Calendar Project.
Again you can contribute with journal skins, gallery skins, User Styles or fancy custom widget extras (but more than just a background image please).
Before you apply make sure you understand these simple rules. They aren't that dificult, but have been partly ignored through the years, which is why they always change a little here and there.
Still it is kind of a secret project and the results of it should just be shown during december!
And everyone is welcome! This is not a competition, this is for fun! No

The journal you enter HAS TO BE free to use on DA and therefore instantly installable!

Permission to use CSS skins needed? by GinkgoWerkstatt, journal
Permission to use CSS skins needed?
Recently I get a lot of notes or comments where people ask me for permission to use my journal templates. And Im sure Im not the only one.
First I was confused why people do that, but then I figured out that they might get confused by something like this in any description of a template/skin:
You need to have a Premium Account or to be a staff member/volunteer to use this.

Some still dont know what the requirement for the CSS feature is and thats why they think that, if they dont belong to the ones listed above, they have to ask to use it. That is wrong!
